Thanks, everyone! I have at least 3 more prints from that line that I need to come up with projects for. At least one is quite large scale and the other I have enough to make an article of clothing with, so…

What a great story for your little pouch. Scary memories, but still memories

I love your fabric choices! Airmail is one of my favourite themes

I agree, the story is a little scary … did everything turn out ok in the end?

Thanks! I just love all things postal and airmail! That’s one reason I am so excited about all those dies and stamps I posted in the new crafting supplies thread. Eep!

Everything for use turned out fine in the end. We were evacuated twice and on alert to evacuate at least one other time, but the wildfire didn’t get quite as far as here.

Using the good stuff to make this crib quilt. Honestly using lovely fabric is so joyful. This is for a much wanted first baby, parents are an engineer and a vet so I used all the nerdy/animal prints

The bottom bracelet was made for the boy from beads I picked up on a trip to BC last winter especially for him. The string broke so he threw it away, ugh.

A good reminder to use the good stuff with no expectations beyond the joy of working with favoured materials.

What a great way to look at it! Of course, you also disowned him? :joy:

I thought you all might enjoy this blog post from Julie Balzer about wasted supplies

I especially liked this quote

Remember, the only time that paint is wasted is when it’s in the tube. The only time that fabric is wasted is when it’s shoved in a drawer. I would argue that most of us are wasting our expensive supplies every single day by not using them.

Oh ya, she gets it.

“Supplies may be filling your art space, expanding beyond your organizational system, or even overwhelming you to the point of stopping you from creating.”

Thanks for posting that, it’s so true and we all can use the reminder.

This applies to real life as well…waiting for the perfect moment to do something, make something, say something…NOW is the perfect moment!

I love you guys for embracing this and encouraging each other to use the good stuff…

Used lots of special little bits for this fabric covered spool.
Gold thread from my gran, vintage button, beads and bell. Hemp twine bought at a store in my little sister’s town last time I went to visit her.

I made a shawl from some of my good yarn!

(I was going to share it earlier, but I had a hard time getting a good photo of it.)
