Project Name: Alpaca Reroot for Blythe

Project Link: Alpaca Reroot for Blythe Doll

Brief Description: Okay, this probably could have been a Research Project (or at least severl Big Times, lol) since it took so long, but I’m submitting it for the battle because that is what finally forced me to get this thing done!
Blythe was released by Kenner in 1972 and was discontinued shortly after for lack of popularity. A friend of mine has compiled a wealth of information on her site here, for those interested.

Yes! I’m so sorry. I had meant to link them yesterday. Ada was having fun playing at the indoor playground, but she was also following random adults around and try to get them to play with her, rather than playing with kids. How are you supposed to politely yell “Stay away from the strange old man that we’ve never met before!”

Here’s a link that contains the Ravioli Lasagna, and the French Dip Chicken I made on Sunday. I’ve also made the Chicken Satay in the past.

And here’s the link for the Bolognese Sauce. It wasn’t specifically a low-sodium recipe, but I used all “no salt added” canned goods, 1 part Italian sausage to 3 parts ground beef (since sausage has so much added salt), and reduced the salt it called for by half. I believe it worked out to 1-2 tsp for a single batch, but I made up for it by layering the flavors whenever possible. I sauteed the onion in the sausage fat, deglazed the pan with red wine, etc. It certainly didn’t taste like it needed salt when I was done.

Project Name: Crochet Flowers
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: The ongoing decoration of my coworker’s cubicle windows by season brings us a grouping of flowers! She’s supposed to be moving desks, to one with a window to the outdoors and a smaller cube wall window, so I didn’t have to make as many flowers to fill it up. What’s more 70s than some Flower Power?

Here I am, jumping in at the last day of the month, again.
A couple of things happened in the last few months that rebooted my creativity. One is weekly art/craft club meetings and the other is the Sketchbook Revival challenge that @AIMR referred to last week.
I generated my bingo card a while ago, but didn’t post it. I guess I wanted to make sure I won’t fade out of the season after only a few projects. So here it is now:

I just did a read through this entire thread and am even more inspired to create!

@Tapestry - your tracking pages are great, they really help put everything together in one place. And your tidewaddle is adorable. It makes me wonder if our beaches have a local subspecies. Might have to explore that.

It’s so great to see so many people playing this round.
I need to take pictures of all the stuff I did this month, I think this weekend would be a good time for that.

For now, here’s the April battle.

Project Name: Puff pastry chicken snack
Project Link:
Brief Description:
A popular 70s wedding dish here in Israel was bourekas filled with meat. Basically, it’s puff pastry filled with minced meat or chicken and onions. Weddings were usually a pretty modest event back then. I made mine with chicken that was left over from chicken soup, mixed with sauteed onions and soy sauce. They are yummy fresh out of the oven when the dough is flaky, with a side of pickles.

Project Name: Juggling Chickens?

Project Link: Juggling Chickens!

Brief Description: Last season (I think), I started a set of 4 crocheted chickens. I only fully finished 1 (gifted to my friend’s cousin), and had the last 3 to finish. These are weighted with plastic pellets, so if I ever learn to juggle they’d be fun to use… and granny squares were very much the thing in the 1970’s!

Wonderful chickens! I think the colors are very 70’s.
As soon as I read juggling chickens, I thought of Gonzo and his chickens. Gonzo first appeared in 1970, so it’s totally on prompt :chicken:
