Even with the extension, I didn’t finish the projects I wanted to complete! I ran out of yarn for a project, and when I started to look for where I had tucked it, it sent me down a rabbit hole that did not include any craft time. I made progress on something else, but then had to switch gears to prep some things for school this week. I had such grand plans for the summer, too. Sometimes, I just can’t get out of my own way…

Project Name: Another Easy Dishcloth
Project Link: More Easy Dishcloths! - #14 by craftADDchick
Brief Description: I took a trip (or two) this summer, and between the air travel time, and some free time while on vacation, I was able to complete another one (plus I have another half finished). This is such an easy crochet pattern to make!

Project Name: Vinyl for My Classroom
Project Link: n/a
Brief Description: I needed some labels for some of my curriculum binders, and my team mate needed a label for a stool. We collect cell phones in morning homeroom, and he has something like a shoe holder to store them in. They are numbered according to where the students sit, and a girl who has one in the top row is too short to reach it. So he picked up a stool at IKEA and I added the vinyl. I actually had to do it twice- I used some old YELLOW vinyl, and it was like the adhesive had melted- it was oily on the back, and wouldn’t stick to the stool at all! Anyway, she hasn’t seen the stool yet, but I think she’ll be quite pleased!

Project Name: Summer Journal 2022
Project Link: n/a
Brief Description: For the last couple of summers, I’ve been keeping a journal of what I do each dar/week. This year, I decided to keep it simple, and do 1 page per week instead of 1 page per day. So, I redesigned the page layout, made a cover (front and back), and then, because it was fewer pages than in the past, I staple it together instead of using the Bind-It-All.

Project Name: Alien Planter
Project Link: n/a
Brief Description: Many years ago, I received some sort of gift in this alien head. I used it briefly as a planter for some cacti, but they didn’t survive. I think it was because there was no drainage. So, it sat, full of sand (and for a while, full of dead cacti) until I finally decided it was time for a reboot. I bought some floral foam to stuff into the bottom to catch excess water. I had planned to trim away a bunch of the edge of the opening to fit a potted plant, but the pot fit almost perfectly (it’s plastic, so it had a little flex) and so I only needed to trim a very small amount to get the pot inside. It looks pretty fun sitting up on the shelf, staring at me while I work!

Project Name: Summer Canning 2022
Project Link: n/a
Brief Description: This was a day and a half of canning. We got a late start, so made one item the next morning. We made sweet corn salsa (a favorite that we try to make every year), masala pickled yellow beans (instead of the dilly beans we usually make), peach rosemary jam, and plum cardamom jam.
