Everyday Holidays Craftalong Winter 2025

:books: Resources and Ideas for February Monthly Holidays :bulb:

Please note:
I compiled these links many years ago for a different site. As such, some links may be outdated or broken. If you find any such links, please let me know, and I’ll remove them.

Other than some occasional links to my own blogs, which I’ll make an effort to identify, I’m not associated with any links, companies, blogs, etc. I’m just offering them here because I think they’re useful for learning about the given holiday or observation.

I don’t have links for every single holiday, but I’ll try to add more as the years go by.

Please note, this is from one of my old blogs. My favourites include the Boston Public Library and the Sterling Municipal Library in Baytown, Texas.

Take out a library book on a new craft you want to try!

Check your local library’s website to see what kinds of “creative space” tools and machines they have available. Several libraries now offer 3D printers, sewing and embroidery machines, cricuts and more, so you can try these hobbies before investing in the equipment. All you need is a library card!

Got some old library check-out cards laying around? Try a mixed media painting with them!

Paint a picture of your favourite library, or make a drawing of a library-loving creature.

Create a work of art that shows your appreciation for libraries, like this burned wood sign.

Make a Litte Free Library to share the joy of books with neighbours.

Or create a miniature library

Share your latest library read in the What are you reading? thread. You can share non-library reads too, of course. Or share your reading list in this thread

Here’s an awesome Fruit salad pirate ship. It’s supposed to be a preschool snack, but I think it would make a great centerpiece for a game night with friends, no matter your age

Or make a Snackle Box to be prepared for all future snacking needs.

Looking for some vegetarian snack ideas? Check out this thread, or make these BBQ roasted chickpeas.

Or, if you’re a meat lover, try this maple bacon crack.

And, if you have pets, don’t forget to get them some treat snacks, too. These poopcicle pupcicles will make your doggo happy.

Not hungry? How about using “snack” as inspiration for a different craft? How about this adorable felted sweet valentine?
