When I am crafting in my studio, I often watch YouTube videos about quilting, cooking, and decorating. Lately I’ve been drawn to some slow living, gently-witchy, everyday magic, and “romanticizing your life” videos, by creators like My Moonstone Kitchen, Shelby’s Cottage, Darling Desi, and occasionally The Rambling Rose. They have already started in on their “Autumn is Coming” content, sharing Bucket Lists for the season, their autumn reading lists, and recipes for baked goods and simmer pots. So I thought for this month’s Round-Up, I’d create my own Autumn Bucket List, full of joy found right here on Lettuce Craft.
-Embrace sweater weather by wearing something cozy, like this Chunky Stripey Sweater from @grenouille78. Or if the day is still warm, maybe a nice Plaid Button Down Tunic, like this one by @tendstowardschaos, and a Plaid Triangle Scarf like @bananaleg’s.
-Decorate my house & front porch for some good vibes. This scrappy autumn garland by @MightyMitochondria tugs at my quilter’s heart. And while I’m at it…
-Craft a new autumn wreath. Maybe something like this crescent moon wreath-meets-dreamcatcher, featuring fall leaves and pinecones by @Chr1stchan. After I finish the outside, it’s time to do inside…
-Crochet a pumpkin. I’ve been meaning to try out @storerboughtcreations pumpkin pattern for years now, and I just got the perfect orange yarn to try it with.
-Make some pumpkins for the mantle. Actually, I’m going to need every single surface decorated for the season, so I better make All The Pumpkins, like @MightyMitochondria.
-Go on a leaf peeping walk, and see if I can find one as brilliantly colored as in @LindyBlue’s nature photography.
-Take Ada apple picking & bake an apple pie, like this beautiful streusel topped pie by by @jellybean.
…and I’m gonna need some cute trivets to use while baking! Like this trivet and coaster set by @Magpie.
-Wander through a pumpkin patch and bring one home to carve. I’d love to do something creepy, like this masterpiece by @susieoregon.
-Light a fall scented candle. Perhaps I should take the opportunity to make another batch of my Witch’s Brew candles to give away as gifts.
-Bake a pumpkin treat. Most likely a batch of these Mini Pumpkin Scones with Maple Glaze, that @jillybeans shared.
-Read something witchy, and a few seasonal romances. I’m currently working on a witchy retelling of Jane Eyre, called Salt & Broom, by Sharon Lynn Fisher. In this version Jane is a witch, called upon to break a curse on Mr. Rochester, of Thornfield Hall. Filled with a moody Gothic atmosphere, herbal potions, and fae creatures in disguise, it is certainly setting the vibe for the season! I also just started The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore. It is billed as a cozy (yet spicy) romance set in a small town in autumn. If you’re looking for more suggestions, be sure to check the What are You Reading? thread. Personally, I’m waiting to hear what @gozer’s latest cozy Halloween mystery suggestion is for the year.
-Make some Halloween cards to spread the joy. I love this set of Great Pumpkin Cards by @irid3sc3nt.
-Say goodbye to Spooky season, and hello to gathering with family by baking something with cranberries, like this Cranberry & Cream Danish Braid by @saranethx.
What about you guys? Has the weather turned for you? What’s on your Bucket List for the season? Have you indulged in your first autumnal beverage of the year? What LC projects are inspiring you at the moment? Any witchy reads piled on your night stand?
