Just when you thought it was safe to leave your craft room…
Summer is in full swing in the Northern Hemisphere, with record high temperatures across Europe and the US. Folks are looking for any way they can to cool off. Many are heading to the beach to relax with ice cream cones on the boardwalk, and some splashing in the waves. Unfortunately the record high temps have also brought other visitors to the shore… Sharks! There have been an uptick in shark sightings and shark attacks this summer. So to be safe, avoid the ocean, and stay home to craft this weekend instead!
YOUR THEME: TAKE A BITE OUT OF YOUR STASH… to craft some summer sun & beach fun.
YOUR TIME FRAME: This weekend, July 22-July 25th, 2022, at midnight.
Examples:
- Use up your felt scraps making a Nautical Flag Bunting.
- Bust out your Cricut or Silhouette & cardstock to cut a 3-D Lighthouse Shadow Box.
- Spend time with the kids making Gummy Shark Jello Cups, then make yourself a adults-only Shark Bite Cocktail.
- Stash-bust fabric to make a Whole Cloth Beach Quilt to lounge on.
- Stitch up a scrappy Shark Zip Pouch like @gozer.
- Raid the fridge for yogurt and summer berries to make these Bloody Popsicles.
- Use the shells you’ve been saving to create beautiful Flotsam Pendants like @endymion.
- Surprise your family by carving the watermelon sitting on your counter into a Great White.
The Rules:
- The goal with this challenge is to craft with stash materials, but we all know that sometimes you just really need a bigger boat. Or that you’ve run out of blue thread, and need to run to the store. So for this challenge, craft with at least 75% stash materials!
- Your craft may be any medium that we have a category for here on Lettuce Craft.
- Each member may only submit one entry, which cannot already be posted on its own thread.
- Additionally, your entry may not be submitted for any other contest in this community.
- All entries must be posted by midnight on Monday, July 25th, your local time. (LC will timestamp your post.)
The winner of the TAKE A BITE OUT OF YOUR STASH CHALLENGE will receive a $20 Amazon gift card. And bragging rights. 
Additional Details:
- You should submit your entry by creating a project post on the correct Completed Projects sub-board for your medium. (Ie. a recipe on the Food & Drinks board)
- You are REQUIRED to have a descriptive title and then include “- Take a Bite 2022 Challenge Entry” (example: Jennie’s Baby Shark Mobile - Take a Bite 2022 Challenge Entry). Once you have posted your submission, you need to reply to this thread with a link to your post. If you do not do this, your entry will not be considered.
- Voting will happen on July 25th - 31st, 2022.
- The winner will be announced on August 1 - we will contact you via Private Message, after the announcement.
- If cheating of any sort is discovered, the applicable entry and votes will be disqualified.
